DANCE TEACHER POSITION DESCRIPTION

indelabilityarts is looking for an experienced dance teacher to join our team and facilitate our Redland Dance Class on Thursday afternoons commencing 10/02/22. The classes run from 2.30pm to 4.30pm for a 9-week term.

 

OUR CLASSES

Located at the Redland Performing Arts Centre, our inclusive dance classes focus on teaching movement and expression in a safe and welcoming environment. Students are encouraged to unlock their imagination through movement while connecting with others who share a love of performance.

Our classes are open to anyone over 16 years old who wishes to join and we offer live streaming options to reduce barriers to learning.

 

POSITION CRITERIA

  • Relevant experience in dance and teaching - tertiary qualifications are an advantage but not essential

  • Relevant experience and knowledge of the disability sector

  • Access to own transport is an advantage as gear and teaching supplies will be needed

  • Plan and deliver exceptional dance classes which cater to the students' specific requirements

  • Understand the sometimes-complex needs and access requirements of the students and ensure a safe and welcoming learning space where they can thrive

  • Build a relationship with students based on trust, understanding, patience, and kindness

  • Work with the Program Manager to coordinate a curriculum that is educational, exciting, and a tonne of fun

  • Strong teamwork ethos with a willingness to collaborate with others

  • High standards of professionalism and integrity

  • Willingness to complete disability awareness training

  • Follow COVID-19 procedures to ensure the safety of teachers, students, and venue staff

ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination status

  • Government-issued working with children card (or be in a position to apply for one)
